Empathy and Childbirth Prep-- About 36 weeks!

With about 1 to 6 weeks until baby arrives we are busy making sure we are as prepared as possible for her arrival. Had 35 1/2 week check up yesterday and all is well. Next week we get to get another ultrasound which is exciting. We are going to be going to the doctor every week now until she arrives.

We have been going to Childbirth Class for the last 4 weeks. Last night was our last night of the childbirth portion and then we will have one more class that will be a brief child care class. At class last night the men got an opportunity to wear a 25-30 lb empathy belly and try to do simple activities to see what challenges us women face carrying around all the extra weight. Don't think it really comes close....but it was humorous to see.
The instructor had them lay on the ground sit on a balance ball and try to pick up simple objects. While on the balance ball she threw a pen on the ground for him to pick up. He showed off by picking it up while on the ball. It was pretty funny actually. Most of the guys had more trouble (or were being dramatic). Dan acted like it was nothing but I think he had fun with it.
