This weekend Sheryl (my sister) threw a beautiful shower for baby at her house. The night before she stayed up very late getting everything ready (and even recruited my bro in law John's help with the cooking). It was very nice. All together there were just over 20 people there. My friends and family squeezed into my sisters nicely decorated (but not large) home.
For lunch we had chicken salad, homemade cinnamon chips with fruit salsa, bruchetta, fruit, spinach dip, and chocolate covered strawberries. It was all so yummy! My sister ordered the cake from a well known bakery and had it specially designed for the shower. The cake was light purple with butterflies and a cute little green frog on top. Apparently a photo of it is now in their demo book because it turned out so nice!

We played two games at the shower. The first was "guess the tv mom" and the 2nd was "guess the nursery rhyme". After the games and lunch, it was time to open gifts. We got so many nice things between this shower and the one thrown in St. Louis. At this shower some of the major items we received were the bassinet, pack-n-play, vibrating & musical sitter/chair, a 2nd base for the car seat, boppy, bumbo seat, diaper bag and so many more necessities and adorable items. Some people stuck around to chit chat but the shower was soon over and everyone went home with homemade sugar cookies shaped like "onsies". They were not only adorable they were so delicious. Dan ate 3 of them later that night!

As the women "showered" baby and myself, Dan was off with my brother-n-law John, Father, and Uncle Jim for some bonding and bowling.

All in all I believe it was a very enjoyable day for everyone. It is a day I know I won't soon forget!!
