A little gal's first Christmas..........

Mia celebrated her first Christmas here in KC.

We did not really get a white Christmas but we did get a bit of snow on Christmas eve. So Mia went out in the snow for the very first time. There was not enough to really play in but enough for her to get her first glimpse of beautiful white flakes falling to the ground. We bundled her up in a winter outfit and hat that her Aunt Ann and Uncle Gene sent her and took her out into the elements. She really seemed to enjoy it.

It is wonderful to see our lil gal in awe of a new experience.

We spent Christmas Eve at my Aunt Jodi's house in Independence. It was very nice. Lots of yummy food and desserts. Mia stayed up until almost 10pm!! She was not even once cranky until we hit the car for the ride home. She played and enjoyed being held by everyone....well mostly her Aunt Sheryl. She received lots of nice gifts from her Mommy's cousins including an adorable lil outfit, furry boots (Mommy is jealous), and some fun toys. We were of course the first ones to leave the festivities but incredibly we did not have to leave til nearly 10pm. Mia was a trooper. That is until we hit the car and we thought she would be out like a light, but she was so overly tired and upset in the car. When we got home she was asleep right away though. Long day for a lil baby.

She had a great time opening presents (well eating paper) and climbing on Uncle Dale's coffee table on Christmas eve.

We woke up Christmas morning at are normal time and by our everyday alarm clock, Mia of course. Christmas morning we spent opening up our gifts to and from the three of us and playing in the living room.

Since we wanted to get to my parents house for brunch, Mia of course took a long nap. She was so worn out from being up so late on Christmas eve. Brunch was just more of a lunch but it all worked out. That evening we spent at my parents house with my parents and my sister and bnl (poor guy was sick). We had a good time opening gifts and eating a Turkey Christmas dinner. Last Christmas my Mom's health was not so great. So we are so blessed this year to have everyone in good health (well John had a cold) and to have an adorable new addition to help us celebrate the gift of Jesus.

This Christmas will not soon be forgotten. It is so amazing to watch Mia experience Christmas for the first time. I know it is only going to get more exciting for her in the coming years, but it was neat to watch her face as she explored all the new sights, smells, and sounds of the holiday season. This holiday was just one more reminder for me of how very blessed we all are.
