The Rhode's Wedding, Lunch at the Moores,Nick and Jacob's Graduation BBQ and Mia meets Jiffy and Tracy.
Mia's First Wedding (Jon & Kiley Rhode)
This past weekend was a very busy one for the 3 of us. Mia got to go to her first wedding. Kiley and Jon Rhode got married in downtown St. Louis at First Congretional Christian Church with the reception at The Top of the Met. It was a gorgeous ceremony. Mia wore her new pink fancy dress and was very well behaved during the ceremony. She had a great time staring at the lights and the stained glass windows. I think she was sort of distracting to the other guests...being so cute and all. At the wedding were two other babies in her peer group. There was one little girl named Lucy we met who was not only 6 weeks old like Mia but born on her exact due date. Also, there was a little girl named Abbey at the ceremony. Abbey is only 4 days older than her. She belongs to Will and Jessie B. Quite a cute little girl, I think that one day Abbey and Mia will play very well together. 
After the ceremony we went back to Grandma and Grandpa Appelbaum's house. We got ready for the reception and we were soon off to The Top of the Met. Mia got to stay home with Grandma and Grandpa. This was our first time away from her and her first time being "baby sat". According to Grandma she did really well. I am pretty sure Grandma held her the whole time...which I know Mia appreciated.
The reception was gorgeous and we had a good time our first time away from her.
We did not very late though because we were both really missing her.
Visit with the Moores and Buchanans (Mia meets them all for the first time!)
This past weekend Mia got to meet Paula, Brett, Jacob, Beth, Steve, Alexa, Annie and Millie. We ate lunch at Beth and Steve's house. It was a great time. After the introductions we ate some lunch courtesy of the Moores. As we ate lunch we were entertained by Millie, Annie and Jacob. Very fun to watch them learn to eat table food. Millie had more fun smashing it on her face than putting it in her mouth. But rumor has it that Jacob has been known to shampoo his hair in peaches so Millie is not alone. Mia was not really into the lunch time entertainment...for her all that was needed was the black and white decor hanging over the Moore's kitchen table. 
Anyhow, they were all wonderful entertainment as we ate. As we were finishing up Jacob rode into the room on a little scooter yelling "beep, beep". Soooo adorable!! After lunch we all chatted in Millie and Annie's play room and attempted a group photo. Beth tried very hard to try and get a good group photo. She never did really succeed but I think the attempts are really quite adorable anyhow.
After lunch the little ones played and we got to witness what a good big sis Alexa is as she helped out the other little ones. Time passed quickly and we had to leave so we could go to cousin Jacob and Nick's graduation BBQ. As we walked out the door we waved and said "bye bye". I looked at Annie and said "bye bye" and asked Beth if she knew how to say it back yet. Beth says "She doesn't know how to say bye bye back yet" and the Annie waved and said "bye bye". Beth got excited and Annie said it again. It was precious. We had a great time visiting the Moores and Buchanans, but we were soon off to the next gathering. Hope we get to see them some time soon!
Nick and Jacob's Graduation BBQ
Nick and Jacob's graduation BBQ was held at Mia's Aunt Lisa's house (Nick's Mom) in Wildwood, MO (just outside St. Louis). Here we celebrated Nick's Graduation from Loyola (film school) in California and Jacob's 8th grade graduation. Nick is pursing a job with Sony in California and Jacob will be attending SLUH highschool in the fall. At the BBQ the adults did lots of chatting and a consuming of food and beverages as the little ones played upstairs. It was a nice relaxing time. Mia had met most of the family at the BBQ on our prior visit to St. Louis two weeks ago. But she did get to meet Nick for the first time. 
As the BBQ was coming to an end we were soon off to our final destination, Jiffy's house in Fenton, MO.
Visit with Jiffy and Tracy
We visited Jiffy and Tracy this past weekend. Mia got to meet them for the first time. Mia really liked Jiffy. They had a nice long conversation. It was very cute.
She has nearly met all of our St. Louis immediate family now and close friends. So maybe
upcoming trips to St. Louis won't be quite as busy. I think this weekend wore all three of us out. Mia slept almost the entire way home back to Kansas City. We only had to stop 2 times!
